Introduction: This article presents experimentation with PSK and OFDM modulation in optical fiber, using computational tools to simulate scenarios with QPSK, 8PSK, and 16PSK. Objectives: The objective is to identify the most efficient configuration in terms of transmission quality and system capacity. Methodology: An experimental study was conducted through simulations in the OptiSystem software, evaluating the performance of QPSK, 8PSK, and 16PSK modulations combined with OFDM in an optical communication system. Parameters such as EVM, MER, PAPR, and SNR were analyzed to determine the most efficient configuration. Results: After reviewing the literature, models were developed in OptiSystem, evaluating variables such as error vector magnitude (EVM), modulation error rate (MER), peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Conclusions: The experiments show that the combination of OFDM and 16PSK offers superior efficiency, optimizing system speed and capacity even under adverse transmission conditions. General study area: Telecommunications. Specific study area: Optical communication systems and modulation techniques. Article type: Original.
